What is Staff Booker for Schools?

Staff Booker is a revolutionary recruitment platform developed to give Multi Academy Trusts complete control of over their recruitment, from emergency supply, fixed and temporary positions to internal staff movement. Staff Booker has been approved by the Department of Education as a Crown Commercial Supplier.

Staff Booker brings together all Approved Agencies in one place, allowing complete transparency for both quality and cost of candidate submissions, placing teacher recruitment firmly at the control of the Trust.

Staff Booker offers a centralised system for MATs whilst allowing Schools to operate at an autonomous level.

How many MATs currently use the Staff Booker platform?

We’ve activated over 20 MATs, comprising around 300 schools, as well as over 60 agencies, onto the Staff Booker platform.

Is Staff Booker just for emergency supply cover only?

No. Staff Booker can be used for ALL resourcing, whether that’s emergency supply on a daily basis, short term fixed contracts or permanent positions. It can also be used to manage internal resourcing between schools within the Trust.

Staff Booker enables schools to identify recruitment trends, support planning for the future as well as keeping costs within your control.

Can I use Staff Booker alongside other recruitment methods?

The short answer is ‘yes’, however Staff Booker has been developed to improve on the existing recruitment methodology, particularly when looking for emergency supply cover.

We estimate resourcing for emergency supply through Staff Booker is 10 times quicker when using the Staff Booker App (from your phone) than the conventional method of contacting Agencies. From posting the role, reviewing candidate submissions to sharing safeguarding guidelines and having a teacher in place, the App relieves the usual stresses and strains associated with cover management.

By all means, maintain personal contact with your Approved Agencies, but using Staff Booker will help you manage your recruitment goals within the Trust.

Why should I use Staff Booker when I already have a preferred recruitment supplier?

Staff Booker can support your existing recruitment relationships and also improve on the quality of candidates with a template for submissions across an Approved Agency list.

We currently work with 65 Agencies, all using the Staff Booker platform. Your Trust will only work with Agencies who have a proven track record with your Schools and who also operate within the Staff Booker framework.  By working in this format, MATs are able to centralise recruitment policies and Schools are able to resource autonomously within a clear framework.

Your preferred recruiter will either be using or be invited to use Staff Booker. With everyone using the same platform to recruit, you can be confident in making the right resourcing choices based on your selection criteria and budget.

What training and support will be given?

We will arrange a fully interactive training session of Staff Booker at your School or virtually with Google Meet (throughout the restrictive period imposed by Covid-19).

Staff Booker training is comprehensive and informal and we encourage lots of questions during the walkthrough. You will receive all training materials prior to installation with a detailed program of areas that will be covered.

We will keep in touch with you after your training and make sure you are getting the full benefits of Staff Booker or to establish if any additional support is required.  We are always just a phone call or email from an answer, should you need instant support.

Schools receive Staff Booker at zero cost, but Agencies have to pay. Might this be a deterrent for our preferred Agency to work with us?

This has not been our experience with the 65 Agencies we currently have working with Staff Booker.

Our innovative technology will create huge cost saving in the future for recruitment agencies via the efficiencies Staff Booker brings.  The recruitment market is moving towards a digital qualitative approach.

Our web-based software can work on any platform, both desktop and mobile allowing agencies to operate in real time. Staff Booker provides teacher rewards data, teacher digital diary, real-time tracking and automated candidate selection through sophisticated data profiling. These are all critical attributes to supporting both candidates and schools ensuring the provision of quality education.

To develop and implement similar technology and infrastructure on their own, will place a larger financial drain on many Agencies. Our approach to recruitment is revolutionary and will help future-proof the ‘traditional’ agency methodology, help them develop additional revenues whilst providing schools with a much needed improved cost savings.

What due diligence is carried out when selecting Approved Agencies?

A fundamental part of the success of the Staff Booker implementation process is the Agency Briefing Day.

When a MAT signs up to Staff Booker, we invite all schools within the Trust to provide details of agencies currently being used. We then arrange an Agency Briefing Day where key stakeholders of the Trust meet the agencies from schools recommendations

We ask Key Stakeholders to set out the Trusts own compliance questions through a template provided by ourselves. These are sent to each agency for completion.

Following the Agency Briefing Day, the Key Stakeholders can make an informed decision of which agencies they wish to include on their list of MAT-Approved Agencies.

Through working with all the schools during this important part of the process encourages early adoption and uptake across the whole of the Trust – led from the ground upwards.

When you are invited to use the Staff Booker platform within your Agency, you immediately gain access to a wider network of opportunities in the education recruitment sector.

You may currently work with just one or two schools within a MAT, providing a steady but maybe unreliable income stream. When you join up to the Staff Booker platform, your Agency is able to monitor roles across the whole of the MAT, move into new regions without the need of an extra office and improve your placement ratio, thereby growing your income potential exponentially.

Efficiency, retention and new business will become increasingly important to all of us. Schools, MATs and universities will be seeking to centralise their digital utilisation and solutions to recruitment. They will welcome any agency that helps them achieve this goal.

How much does Staff Booker cost?

Staff Booker operates with just 2 costs:

  1. An initial set-up fee
  2. A monthly subscription fee per office location*

Unlike other system providers, the Staff Booker pricing structure allows usage for unlimited users ‘per office’ location. Your whole team can have access and identify recruitment opportunities daily, boosting the success of your Agency and helping to raise your profile amongst the competition.

*There is no limit of users within the ‘per office’ monthly subscription fee. If you operate Staff Booker within each office location, you will pay a ‘per office’ subscription amount for each one.

With all Agency costs being transparent, my Agency could potentially lose out on business – is this true?

No. We know from both experience and qualitative data from actual Staff Booker usage, MATs base their recruitment decisions on what will deliver the best outcome to improve the education of the student, not solely on saving money.

Staff Booker is the only system that connects MATs, Agencies and Teachers together in one platform and provides a level playing field for everyone. You can improve the candidate submissions with up to date Teacher Profiles. You can help them earn rewards and improve their success rates for future placements.

The data available from Staff Booker goes much deeper than just cost – it provides an understanding of performance, location and how often teachers have worked within each Trust. With complete transparency across all aspects of recruitment, you put the Agency in a strong position for success.

It sounds like Staff Booker is a move away from ‘personal relationships’ – do you agree?

No. Systems are no substitute for personal relationships, which is why we hold the Agency Briefing Days with the schools. This is your invitation to place your Agency at the forefront of Key Stakeholders and start to build a successful relationship going forward.

Staff Booker also has a unique Messenger service to ensure everyone stays connected through the appropriate channel. So, whether you are at the start of the recruitment process, during the placement or as a follow-up, your Agency can stay in touch with both schools and candidates in a way that supports the underlying resourcing objectives.

Staff Booker is the gateway in providing educational excellence through the supply of quality candidates and doing so in an informative and qualitative framework.

How do we connect Teachers with Staff Booker?

Staff Booker is equipped with automated communication prompts which can be sent to all your registered candidates. They will be invited to download the Staff Booker app with information on how to get the most from the platform and the benefits.

Teachers can receive rewards and incentives when they are placed through the Staff Booker platform, thereby improving their chances of recruitment for the future.

It is in both the Agency and Teacher’s interests to be using the app as they can build their Teacher Profile and have a better the chance of success in a role placement. An incomplete Profile can lead to delays in submission and lost revenue or earnings opportunities.
